About Us

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an international humanitarian agency that assists impoverished and disadvantaged people overseas, including in Yemen. The organization was established by the Catholic Bishops of the United States in 1943.

In Yemen, CRS is actively engaged in responding to the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing conflict. As of my last update in 2021, their work includes:

  1. Food Security: CRS provides emergency food assistance to vulnerable families, including malnourished children and pregnant and nursing mothers, to help combat food insecurity in Yemen.
  2. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): CRS works to provide clean water, sanitation services, and hygiene education to prevent disease outbreaks.
  3. Livelihoods: CRS helps people restore their livelihoods by supporting activities that generate income and improve food security.
  4. Health and Nutrition: CRS provides life-saving medical and nutritional assistance to communities affected by conflict, with a focus on women and children.
  5. Education and Child Protection: CRS supports education initiatives and child protection programs, including programs for children who have been displaced or affected by the conflict.
