HALO Trust

The HALO Trust (Hazardous Area Life-support Organization) is a British charity and American non-profit organization which clears landmines and unexploded ordnance from post-conflict zones around the world. Its goal is to create safe and secure environments in these war-torn areas so that communities can return to their normal lives without fear of injury or death.

Established in 1988, the HALO Trust was the first non-governmental organization of its kind to focus on mine clearance. Since then, it has worked in over 25 countries and territories and has been instrumental in making vast tracts of land safe again for productive use. The organization has played a significant role in developing and promoting best practices for humanitarian demining.
