YWU

Yemen Women Union is an independent voluntary non-governmental organization established since the 1960s.

The union was merged in 1990 when the unification of Yemen was achieved in the south and north, and it became a union that includes women from different age groups, economic and social classes and political affiliations.

It has a membership of 1,400,000 members and is affiliated with various branches and centers of its activities and benefits from 300 to 500 women annually. The Union has 23 major branches in different governorates and 165 women's activity centers in different districts,through its mission and general objectives, the Union seeks to empower women and support their capacities to contribute effectively to sustainable development, eliminate all forms of discrimination

against them and promote equal rights in accordance with their expertise and competence. Fundamental in economic, social and cultural development.
